Introduction One thing I have never been is a wine connoisseur. I have always enjoyed drinking wine, but I never knew which type was best with what food, or the difference between the "bouquet", "nose", and "aroma". Luckily, if I had wine with a meal, I was usually in the presence of someone who had some knowledge of the stuff and was more than willing to impress me with it. When I decided to write this article, I realized that I probably should do a little research on the subject matter. So I started reading about wine, finding both books and Web sites to be informative. I also bought several bottles of different types of wine to experiment with at mealtime. ![]() There are over 30,000 wines available in the US. How does one know which to drink? Which goes with what food? Well, one can either befriend a wine connoisseur or become one. The former might be easiest to do, but the latter would be more fun. |
