Vivisection is the use of animals for experiments in a laboratory. Experiements range from finding cures for diseases to whether or not a shampoo or cosmetic irritates the eyes . The problem is that many drugs, chemicals react differently with a dog's, cat's, rabbit's, monkey's, mouse's system than to a humans.

Examples include: While aspirin is toxic to cats and dogs, it is used for humans to thin the blood and reduce headaches. Some heart medications will improve the health of animals but kill a human. Penicillin is beneficial for sick humans, but a small amount will kill a guinea pig or cat. Placed in the eyes of a laboratory animal, methyl-alcohol has no effect, but humans are notoriously going blind from drinking 'moonshine'. Trying to poison a human with strychnine; that will work, but don't bother on a guinea pig, chicken or monkey. It won't affect them.
